Medical Assistance And Their Consequences

Historically, medical assistants exclusively held jobs in ambulatory care centers, urgent care facilities, and clinics, but this is now changing very rapidly. They now find employment both in private clinics and public held hospitals, as well as facilities for inpatients and outpatients. A Medical assistant resume should contain all the details of his qualifications.Though, this brings about the issues and concerns and confusions that revolve around the medical assistant’s scope of practice. This confusion is not only subject to the medical assistants alone but also prevails amongst their employers, managers and supervisors. They are not always completely sure about the tasks that can be assigned to the medical assistant’s.
The main problem lies in their lack of knowledge or disregard of established professional standards and attempt to perform tasks or procedures which are much beyond their capabilities, training, or scope of practice are in danger of exposing themselves, medical office, and supervisor all together to critical consequences. This is where medical supervisors adopt drastic steps. The medical assistant is immediately suspended without any consulting. This is done so that the doctor’s or medical office’s reputation is not damaged and to avoid any malpractice law suit. When there is so much at stake is very rarely that second chances are given, mainly in the case of new employees where the trust is yet to be established. Therefore, one should give a considerate amount of thought before seriously deciding to take up the job of a medical assistant.
