About Me
Hi, my name is Cardin Lilly Routh.
I started OptimistLab because I received an invisible tap on the shoulder. It was in response to something I’d been asking: what sort of work can I do that feels true to me, fulfilling, interesting, and compelling?
I had a nice little career as a freelance commercial writer going at the time, and this particular tap on the shoulder suggested to me that I could combine my writing skills with a subject area that has always been of special interest to me—spirituality and self development.
I’ve been thinking, reading, and meditating about healing and spirituality on and off for nearly 20 years. During which time I’ve had plenty of life experience to bolster my “spiritual” education— joy and laughter as well as heartbreak, conflict, confusion, not to mention a few spiritual side trips.
I find it a little strange to use labels, but I am what you might call a “channel” (well, actually we all are, but that’s another story). Most of what I write here, at OptimistLab, feels like it has been “downloaded” to me. I do it in a clairaudient way. I’ll begin to hear words, paragraphs, phrases, and then I pop over to my computer and start typing. A lot of the time it feels like I’m simply taking dictation.
I also have other intuitive experiences—clairvoyance (seeing), clairsentience (body-feeling) and knowingness. I was once even offered an apprenticeship with a psychic I knew.
But, if you were to meet me in person, you probably wouldn’t notice any of that. You’d likely think I’m a little goofy, maybe a little playful. Chances are I’d either be trying to make you laugh or I’d be off in a corner goofing off with some soul-friends. You certainly wouldn’t get a “guru” or “spiritual leader” vibe from me—and I wouldn’t want you to.
I think this is as it should be because what I most what you to know is that whoever you are, wherever you are, you are in the perfect place to become enlightened, happy, and more spiritually aware, right now. You don’t have to follow a bunch of restrictive rules to do that. And, you don’t have to take it all so seriously. All you really have to do is just learn to be more You. Truly and deeply You.
This I know: Life is meant to be fun.
(Oh, and one other thing, I’m a girl. Some people seem to be confused about this. I’ll post a picture of myself soon.)
Cheers,
Cardin Lilly
