Introducing the High Vibes Game

One of the most vibration-raising things any of us can do is give. I mean truly give, of your heart and soul. And, when we give everyone benefits. That’s where the High Vibes Game comes in—you play by giving your attention to deserving bloggers and you get to share your knowledge and expertise with an ever expanding audience.

The game takes a little time, but not much. And, the beauty of it is that when you play, you’ll be expanding the reach of positively oriented blogging, sharing the work of deserving bloggers, and attracting more exposure to your own work.

Oh, and one other thing—the High Vibes Game is fun!

Here’s what you’ll find in this post:

Introduction

Here is a brief overview of the game:

You write a post about how you raise, and keep up, your “vibes”—in other words, how you stay positive, motivated, happy, and so on. Here’s mine.

Then you give your attention to five (or more if you wish) of your favorite blogs by selecting a high-quality, positively focused, post from each blog and submitting each of the five, plus your “Raising Your Vibes” post, to a new, positively-oriented, news sharing site called high Vibe it (more about high Vibe it later).

When you play, you’ll be sharing your own work, plus the work of others, with many, many, people. And you’ll be helping to introduce lots of folks to high Vibe it. And that’s a good thing, because the more people who frequent high Vibe it, the more exposure we all get.

Note: This game was inspired by the phenomenally successful Simply Successful Secrets Project created by Aaron Potts of Today is that Day, plus a desire to help promote the well-deserving high Vibe it.

What is “high Vibe it”?

High Vibe it is a news sharing site designed to help promote positively-oriented articles/posts/news from around the web. If you’ve been to Digg.com then you’ll understand the concept—high Vibe it functions very much like Digg. In fact, the site runs on an open source engine based on Digg.

But while Digg is oriented towards technology stories and conventional news, high Vibe it is centered around positive content. It’s the Digg for us!

Here’s how high Vibe it works: You submit positively oriented posts/news from the around the web to high Vibe it. Once submitted, any other user can then vote for the item you submitted.

At the same time, you can also discover great new bloggers, and content, by checking out the stories that have been submitted by other users and then voting for any article that you resonate with. When you do that, through the gift of your attention, you’ll be helping others find great content (posts with more votes rise to the top of the lists, and are therefore, more visible). And you’ll be helping deserving bloggers get more exposure.

High Vibe it is a relatively new site, and I think it’s a resource that has the potential to greatly expand the reach of positively oriented blogging. The more of us who give a little of our attention to high Vibe it, the better it will do. And the better it does the more exposure we all get.

Sure, if you want to spread the word, you could submit a few articles on your own, and tell a few other bloggers you know about high Vibe it (that’s how I was doing it, until I dreamed up this game), but if you play the High Vibes Game you’ll be able to do way more than you could by yourself.

Play the game and get others to play by tagging them—then watch as your reach, and high Vibe it’s reach, expands exponentially with each participant. The more who regularly go to high Vibe it, and submit and vote for stories—the more exposure we all get. It’s a win-win.

Feel free to email me if you have any questions about how high Vibe it works. If I can’t help I’ll try to find someone who can.

Disclaimer: I am not affiliated with high Vibe it—I just really like what Roger Oney, the founder, is doing with the site, And I’m inspired to help infuse it with positive, bubbling, energy, because I know it will benefit all of us.

How to Play

If you’ve been tagged just follow the simple directions in this section.

If you haven’t been tagged and you want to play, just scroll down to the “Wanna Play but Didn’t Get Tagged?” section, you’ll find directions there.

1.Write a new post about your favorite tricks for “Raising Your Vibes”. In others words, what you do to stay positive, happy, motivated, and so on. Try to share at least five things you do. They can be things you do every day to maintain your “good vibes”, or things you do once in a while when you need a pick-me-up—or a combination of both. Here’s my “Raising Your Vibes” post.

2.Be sure to link back to OptimistLab and the person who tagged you at the top of your post.

3.Go to high Vibe it, look for the button that says “submit a new story”, and submit your “Raising Your Vibes” post (if you don’t already have an account, you’ll have to sign up, like at any other news sharing or social bookmarking site. No worries though, it’s a relatively painless, and safe, process).

4.Give your attention to five (or more if you want) deserving bloggers by picking one high-quality post by each blogger. Note: these posts do not have to be on the same topic as your “Raising Your Vibes” post. They can be about any positively-oriented subject.

5.Tag these bloggers by submitting each of these five articles to high Vibe it (if you find that an article you chose has already been submitted, you have the option to either vote for it, find a new post to submit, or both).

6.Let each blogger you picked know that they’ve been tagged either through email or by leaving a comment. Also consider including the link to the high Vibe it page containing the post you submitted from their blog (the high Vibe it trackback link).

Have Fun!

Feel free to look around high Vibe it and vote for any other great articles you find there, and feel free to return as often as you like!

Also, to sweeten the deal, I’m adding yet another layer of “blog exposure” to this game. As the High Vibes Game progresses I’ll keep track of all of the participants, and periodically feature, and link back to, your “Raising Your Vibes” posts.

I’ll share only a few at a time, so each link will be likely to get more attention (not lost in a long master list of everyone who played). I’ll do this for everyone who participates—just make sure to link back to OptimistLab, so I can keep track of you.

I’ll also compile a complete list of all participants after the project runs its course. And, I’ll consider, depending on how the project progresses, dividing the entries into categories, as Aaron Potts has done with the Simply Successful Secrets Project.

Again, feel free to email me with any questions.

  • Your “Raising Your Vibes” post will be featured on OptimistLab.
  • You’ll get a link back to your blog (and even more exposure) from everyone you tag who plays.
  • You’ll get to connect with other great bloggers.

  • You’ll help many, many, people discover high Vibe it.
  • You’ll see both the immediate impact of your participation (lots of links to you and high Vibe it submissions) and the future impact (the growth of high Vibe it, and continued increased in exposure for positively oriented bloggers like yourself).
  • You’ll discover how easy it is to find, and vote for, tons of great content on high Vibe it—in fact, feel free to make it a habit. ;)

Wanna Play but Didn’t Get Tagged?

No problem! I’ll tag you!

  1. Just email me and let me know that you want to play.
  2. Since I’ll be submitting one of your posts to high Vibe it, feel free to suggest a post, and include the link to it, in your email (pick a good one!).
  3. I’ll then add your name to my list of bloggers I’ve tagged on my “How I Raise My Vibes” post.
  4. Once you’ve emailed me, consider yourself “tagged”. Go ahead and follow the directions in the “How to Play” section.
  5. Be sure to link to OptimistLab in your “Raising Your Vibes” post—it’ll help me keep track of you.

Well, hopefully that covers all of the bases! Please feel free to email me if you have any questions. I’ll consider doing an FAQ about the game if it seems necessary.

Give. Love. Play. Have fun!
