Carnival of Healing #82
Hello all. Welcome the the 82nd edition of the Carnival of Healing. The carnival is a weekly round-up of personal blog posts on the topics of holistic health, wellness, spirituality, and self empowerment.
I’m happy to report that this week, the Carnival of Healing inbox was jam-packed with excellent submissions (as always), so read on to find great healing-related posts. You may also discover a few new blogs along the way!
And off we go:
Damian, be the change-tread the path, offers: Stepping up to the Challenge. An engrossing account of his efforts to help his two step-children face and conquer their own challenges.
Maria Yu, art-life-spirit.com, offers: Vibrational Protection. “From the spiritual workshops and classes I took I found ‘how to protect yourself’ to be an important and must-be-included subject.” Lots of great tips and references.
Albert Foong, Urban Monk, offers: Happiness: How to maximise pleasure and joy. Ideas and practical advice about getting happier—I particularly like this tidbit, “The body is not a machine; it is your temple.” Food for thought.
Brandon Peele, GT, offers: Relationship to Truth. “What is your relationship to truth? How you answer this question determines your experience of life. “
Hueina Su, Intensive Care for the Nurturer’s Soul, offers: Life Balance Lessons: 7 Keys to Avoid Burnout. Great advice for avoiding “nurturing burnout”. I really enjoyed this tip: “Put Intensive Self-Care as a Top Priority.”
Debra Moorhead, Debra Moorhead.com, offers: On a Rampage. As a Law of Attraction writer myself, I really appreciated this post about a useful technique, “Rampage of Appreciation”.
Surfer Sam, Surfer Sam and Friends, offers: Alternative Medicine. A great rundown of various kinds of alternative medical practices. Includes definitions and benefits of crystal healing, iridology, Ayurveda, homeopathy, and many more.
Chris, Martial Development, offers: Wuji Zhuang: The Self-Knowledge Stance. “The practice of wuji zhuang, or ’standing meditation’, releases the hidden power of self-knowledge.”
Gary van Warmerdam, Happiness through Self Awareness, offers: The Trap of Emotional Denial. “Emotional denial in the short term is a way to avoid hurting our self and people we care about. However it also keeps people from taking action when the overall happiness of their life calls for it.”
Paula Gregorowicz, Coaching4Lesbians, offers: Are You Insulting Yourself? This article discusses the importance of being able to receive compliments and offers this wisdom: “The ability to receive is crucial to being able to get what you really want.”
Craig Harper, Motivational Speaker, offers: Righteous Anger. Makes an important point about something that is often misunderstood in personal development circles—that anger can, at times, be appropriate and even useful.
Jenn Givler, Thriving Holistic Business, offers: Raise your hand if you actually feel bad when you … A post about overcoming the guilt many of us feel when accepting money for services and products we offer.
JoLynn Braley, The Fit Shack, offers: 5 Reasons to Avoid High Fructose Corn Syrup. “I have compiled a list of five, specific health dangers associated with the intake of HFCS. Two of the five are not only health dangers, but also relate to our weight and beauty.”
Raymond David Salas, ZenChill.com Power Tools Blog, offers: How to Request a Miracle. Raymond presents a system for requesting or praying for a miracle—gratitude, forgiveness, and keeping a “miracle journal”.
Aparna, Beauty & Personality Grooming, offers: Drumsticks for health. The drumstick (sahjan) tree is “loaded with all the vital health ingredients” including “seven times more vitamin C than oranges” and “four times more vitamin A than carrots”. It can also be used for medicinal and other purposes.
That wraps it up for this week’s carnival. Big THANK YOU to all the participants.
Last week the carnival was hosted at Reiki Blogger.
