Carnival of Healing #73: The Bloom Before Spring

Have you ever set a goal and then failed to meet it? Me too. I mean, who hasn’t? I think as we turn the corner into mid-February and realize that we are smack, splat, into this new year, we’re starting to get really serious about making this particular year the year that it happens. Whatever it is.

All those goals we’ve been setting for ourselves? We’re feeling pretty determined right now. And, I think we’re aided by the blooming, budding, blossoming energy of spring that’s starting to, ever so quietly, creep into our consciousness (for those of us in the northern hemisphere anyway). That’s the vibe I’ve been getting lately, and judging by this week’s carnival entries I’d say I’m not the only one.

This week’s entries focus on tips, tricks, tools, and techniques, from a variety of perspectives, that you can use to do and achieve whatever it is that you want. So, what will it be?

Want to be more Positive? Let’s start with The Positivity Blog: Take the Positivity Challenge! In this post Henrik Edberg discusses some concrete steps for changing your outlook. He also covers benefits of positivity, and why we sometimes fail when we try to adopt that attitude. Favorite quote: “Why aren’t we more positive? We think it is like it is.” Sound mysterious? You’ll have to read the article to get the scoop.

Want to re-focus your life? At Debra Moorhead.com, Debra Moorhead offers this: 18 Ways to Jump-Start Your Life. This is a thorough rundown of “time tested and proven tips and techniques”. I was particularly taken by tip #11: “Keep Your Goals to Yourself” because I’ve been writing about this topic myself, here at OptimistLab, lately. Check out Debra’s article to get her very excellent take on this.

Want to get along better with people? Barbara Sundquist at HomeBusinessWiz presents: Who Pushes Your Buttons? This article is a guide for figuring out why certain people annoy you, what it says about you, and what to do about it. And, there’s this gem: “no one can make you angry.” Timeless, classic, but it never hurts to be reminded of it.

Want to get more out of journaling? Next up is isabella mori of change therapy with journaling: a dialogue. In this submission, isabella presents a journaling technique, part of a self-parenting program that can help you move forward with your healing and self discovery. She also gives a neat example of how to use the technique. Informative, nifty.

Want to get motivated? Last up, we have What if Today’s the Day? This offering from Craig Harper at Renovate your life with Craig, is about taking a big breath and diving in—to your future, your goals, your desires, your dreams. If you’re feeling the need for action, goal setting, and just-doing-it, be sure to check out this article.

Well, that about wraps up this edition of Carnival of Healing. Hosting, as always, has been a wonderful journey. Thanks, and hats off, to everyone who submitted original articles for this carnival. Happy living, growing, and joy-ing to you all!

Next week (February 24), Carnival of Healing will be at: Mind Mart
